Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location submitted through a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or contact message as needed to answer it. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may automatically receive basic technical information about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, such as which pages receive visits and where sessions end. Browser controls can reject cookies, although some features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating the website and maintaining its performance
- Routing a submitted query to the applicable search partner
- Measuring which resources visitors use
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site provides general directions to Glascock County custodians and Georgia systems, including the Sheriff’s Office, county courts, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Georgia Crime Information Center, and the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles. Official dissemination of Georgia criminal-history information is governed in part by O.C.G.A. § 35-3-34.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is handled under the provider’s privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices, so review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Glascock County Sheriff, Georgia courts, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select interest-based ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Search providers that process a query you submit
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving material on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect collected data. No internet system can guarantee perfect security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. Georgia protections include the Personal Identity Protection Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 10-1-910 through 10-1-915, and the Fair Business Practices Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 10-1-390 through 10-1-407. Subject to applicable limits, you may:
- Request a copy of personal information held about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion where the law permits it
- Object to or opt out of certain processing where available
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A changed version will be posted here with its new effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
